55-Hallucinations

Strings of images intertwine. Before I can touch them, they fade into the blankness leaving me amidst plays of black and white. I clutch my lungs to narrow the holes and let oxygen in. Tears crystallize on the ground. Between the air and the air again, I let go of my eyes to see you.

  3. Right after the first line, I thought, "Blurring together until they became one, mixed up scene, replaying over and over, driving me insane...."

But I liked your version so much better. Beautiful Maha.

  14. Letting go of your eyes to see the person - there is so much to see that our eyes cannot see. For we need to see not a person's outwards appearance but what is inside them.

  17. Oops wrong link posted. Surreal! Gone for a poem this week based on the Etheree form created about twenty years ago by an Arkansas poet named Etheree Taylor Armstrong It normally consists of ten lines of unmetered and unrhymed verse, the first line having one syllable, each succeeding line adding a syllable. I added an extra row for the word count and the punch line. See what I mean here.
